Happy Campers

At Camp Ho Mita Koda, we want to help every family who desires to send their child to camp to be able to do so, no matter what their financial situation. The Campership Fund, for residence camp sessions, provides full or partial financial scholarships based on a sliding scale of the U.S. Poverty Guidelines.  We are grateful to our donors for ensuring that each eligible camper has the opportunity to experience the joy of summer camp and the feeling of belonging that comes with a session at Camp Ho Mita Koda.

Guidelines

Please note the following guidelines when applying for a campership:

  • A camper must be registered for a 2016 overnight camp session before a campership application will be processed. A $35 registration fee is required at the time of registration.
  • All overnight campers are eligible to apply for a campership. Campership awards vary in amount and are based on demonstrated financial need.
  • Campership applications must include income verification; a copy of your 2014 tax return is required if submitting a campership application before April 15, 2016. A copy of your 2015 tax return is required if submitting a campership application after April 15, 2016. Applications without income verification will be considered incomplete and will not be processed. Everyone applying for a campership MUST MAIL or FAX income tax forms to complete the application.
  • Campership applications are processed on a first come, first served basis.  There are limited funds, so please register early!
  • Camperships are only applied to the camp fee. Camperships are not applied to horseback riding, paintball, camp store accounts or camp clothing.
  • Camperships are not available to siblings registered for the same age-range session.
  • If awarded financial assistance/campership, the child must send a thank you letter to the sponsor (information provided upon award).
  • No camper will receive campership support for more than one session per summer.  If a camper enrolls in more than one camp session, a campership, if awarded, will be applied to the session with the lowest fee.
  • Campership recipients are not eligible for financial assistance in subsequent years if the payment and cancellation policies are not followed.
